We are thrilled to welcome back three very experienced expert adjusters from maternity leave. Jo Raby, Sandy Kapoor and Claudia Houlihan are all returning to ASL over the course of this month.
It is great news for ASL – and also for the financial lines market as whole – that Jo, Sandy and Claudia bring with them a combined 38 years of specialist claims experience which we will all benefit from.
I am really pleased that our valued female staff feel that we offer the flexibility to enable them to return to work and meet family responsibilities. Over half of our staff are parents, and we make it a priority to enable them to care for their children as well as meet our clients’ needs with our responsive service standards.
This has been facilitated by positive developments in the workplace; flexible working practices now engrained due to Covid have led to more fathers, as well as mothers, carrying out the school run – and everyone benefits; children, parents, and employers as we have a more egalitarian office.
Gender diversity is a competitive advantage, as I have said before, helping us to see the same problem differently. It isn’t easy juggling different roles, but it is worth the effort and breeds efficiency.
